Curriculum Focus
Our Primary program consists of five main areas including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language Arts, Math, and the exploration of Physical, Cultural, and Natural Worlds. Through authentic Montessori materials and individualized lessons, your child builds confidence while strengthening cognitive skills and supporting every area of their development.
Daily Routine
Your child enjoys a calm and predictable daily routine with extended uninterrupted work cycles. During this time, your little one receives individualized instruction from our certified guides, practices independent work, collaborates with peers, and explores meaningful real world activities. This rhythm supports concentration, independence, and steady academic growth while honoring your child's own pace.
Classroom Experience
Our Montessori classrooms are mixed-age environments often called the Children's House or Casa dei Bambini. In this prepared environment, younger children learn from older students, and older students strengthen their mastery by mentoring peers. Lessons are carefully sequenced, and once your child masters a concept, the teacher gently introduces the next level of learning.
About Our Montessori Primary Schools Programs
In our Montessori Primary program, children ages 3 to 6 years old are guided through a comprehensive curriculum that builds both academic strength and character. Your child is never rushed or compared. Instead, we meet your little one exactly where they are and guide them forward with thoughtful, individualized instruction. Our Primary environment builds a strong academic and social foundation for later learning. We place emphasis on helping your child understand the world around them, form a positive self-image, and develop respect for all life. Your little one begins to see themselves as capable, valued, and confident.
From 3 to 6 Years: Supporting Your Child Through Every Stage of Growth
Between three and six years old, your child experiences extraordinary growth in language, math reasoning, independence, and social awareness. These early years lay the foundation for lifelong learning and the development of human potential. At Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs in Cumming, GA, we provide a safe, nurturing space where your child can build independence, academic confidence, and strong social skills within a structured and supportive learning environment.
Practical Life: Fostering Independence
Practical Life is one of the five core areas of our Primary program. Through real world activities such as food preparation, cleaning, caring for the classroom, and grace and courtesy lessons, your child develops fine motor skills, coordination, and responsibility. These everyday tasks build independence and confidence while strengthening physical development.
Sensorial: Refining Observation & Order
Sensorial materials help your child refine their senses and strengthen observation skills. Through sorting, comparing, grading, and classifying, your little one builds concentration and cognitive skills that support later learning in math, science, and language.
Language Arts: Reading & Writing Foundations
Language development flourishes in the Primary years. Through sandpaper letters, movable alphabet work, phonetic lessons, storytelling, writing activities, and beginning reading, your child builds strong language arts skills. Many children begin reading naturally as lessons progress in sequence, building both skill and confidence.
Math: Concrete to Abstract Understanding
Montessori math materials allow your child to experience math in a concrete and meaningful way. Through hands on learning, your little one develops a deep understanding of numbers, quantity, and operations before moving into abstract reasoning.
Physical, Cultural & Natural Worlds
Your child explores science, geography, art, music, and history as part of understanding the wider world. Through hands on lessons and meaningful exploration, your child develops curiosity, respect for nature, and appreciation for diverse cultures and communities.
Emotional Security & Inclusive Community
In our mixed-age Montessori classrooms, younger children observe and learn from older students, while older students grow in leadership and empathy. This structure builds confidence, cooperation, and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
Growing Thinking Skills & Academic Confidence
Extended work cycles allow your child to focus deeply and complete meaningful lessons at their own pace. Individualized instruction ensures your child progresses steadily through the curriculum, strengthening executive function skills and building lasting academic confidence.
Safe, Beautiful Spaces Designed for Children
Our Montessori classrooms are filled with natural light, carefully organized materials, and inviting learning areas. Every detail of our prepared environment is designed to promote exploration, independence, and purposeful learning.

One of the things I love most about this school is how genuinely the teachers enjoy their work and how lovingly they interact with the children. The team—and of course the team leader—is truly wonderful. The environment is clean, warm, and welcoming. The children get to experience and learn so many things about life. No activity feels random or rushed; everything is done with real care and intention. Many thanks to everyone involved.
