Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs is a leading Montessori private school offering programs for children from 13 months to 15 years of age. The school has been serving toddlers through middle school students in the City of Cumming, Georgia since 2004, and extended its programs to high school students in 2017. Sharing the same name as the nearby green space Sharon Springs Park located off Sharon Road, Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs can be accessed from Peachtree Parkway Georgia State Route 141. Located just an hour’s drive north of downtown Atlanta, Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs lies in the center of Forsyth County and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Cumming, Georgia

The City of Cumming is a commuter town for Atlanta, with a large portion of its residents using Georgia State Route 400 as a way to get to and from work in the state’s capital. The small, cozy city is known for hosting the annual Cumming Country Fair and Festival, a family friendly 10-day long event, with free admission for children under the age of 10, featuring rides, concerts, and baking competitions. Cumming is also home to Sawnee Mountain Preserve, a 963-acre scenic greenspace that visibly links to the summit of Blue Ridge Mountain and offers 11 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, and an interactive Visitor Center.

For more outdoor fun, families that live in Cumming can escape to Cumming’s #1 tourist attraction, Lake Sidney Lanier, located just 40 minutes north of Atlanta off GA 400. Cumming residents can also visit the nearby Buford Trout Hatchery, located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, to walk along the Hatchery Nature/Bird Trail or to fish in the Family Fishing Pond. Warbington Farms is another great place to go on a family outing, where children and parents can enjoy the petting zoo barn, strawberry picking in the spring, and a pumpkin patch in the fall.

One of Cumming’s newest and most frequented attractions is the Cumming Aquatic Center, a state-of-the-art aquatic facility equipped with a competition pool, an instructional pool, and an outdoor leisure pool with a waterpark. Cumming Aquatic Center also hosts birthday parties, swim lessons, fitness programs, and swim and dive teams. The Cumming Playhouse is another popular destination for Cumming families to enjoy plays, musicals, and concerts with fine dining.

For Cumming residents, the nearby City of Atlanta also offers a variety of fun places for children and families to explore. One of these places, The Children’s Museum of Atlanta, is an educational venue for children offering programs for children of all ages, with a focus on the arts, culture and geography, engineering, health and wellness, literacy, math, science, and technology. Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs is more than just an average preschool or daycare, offering an individualized education experience that focuses on fostering independence with a sense of community and global awareness. From ages 13 months to 15 years old, the children at MASS are self-confident leaders, curious innovators, and enthusiastic learners. Enrichment programs in the arts and athletics for all ages, as well as themed summer camps for primary and elementary groups and STEM summer camp programs for ages 6 to 9 are also offered at Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs.

Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs is conveniently located just an hour’s drive north of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Visitors or returning residents of Cumming just have to hop on the I-85 North for about 30 minutes, merge onto the I-285 W towards Chattanooga for about a mile and a half, and then merge onto the GA-141 N. After about 25 minutes on the GA-141 N, exit off the highway onto Mathis Airport Parkway and continue driving until you reach the intersection at Old Atlanta Road. You will make a left turn onto Old Atlanta Road and take this straight to Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs.

Directions to Downtown Atlanta from Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs:

Similarly, Downtown Atlanta is just under an hour’s drive south of Montessori Academy at Sharon Springs. From MASS, a right turn can be made off Old Atlanta Road to Sharon Road, then a left turn onto Peachtree Parkway (GA-141 S), immediately followed by a right turn onto Old Alpharetta Road. After driving for two miles on Old Alpharetta Road, you can make a right turn on Curie Drive, followed by another right on to McFarland Parkway, which will take you straight to GA-400 S/US-19 S. Continue on GA-400 for about 25 minutes until you reach Exit 1B for Sidney Marcus Boulevard, keep right here and then make the first left off Sidney Marcus Boulevard onto Adina Drive NE. Follow Adina Drive NE until you reach the intersection of Piedmont Road Ne, where you will make a left and follow Piedmont Road until you take the Interstate 85 S ramp where you can merge onto GA-13 S and then merge onto I-85 S, which will take you directly to downtown Atlanta.
